Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is a practical form of psychotherapy. It helps people to develop skills and strategies for becoming and staying healthy.

CBT focuses on the here-and-now—on the problems that come up in day-to-day life. CBT helps people to examine how they make sense of what is happening around them and how these perceptions affect the way they feel.

CBT helps to address unhelpful patterns of thinking and how our automatic thoughts influence our emotions and behaviours. - Canadian Association of Mental Health

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling provides a safe and welcoming environment where you focus on addressing your stressors, mental health, overall wellness and healing. This type of counselling focuses on your immediate needs and helps with processing and developing coping mechanisms.

Individual counselling helps to improve your overall quality of life, develop healthy attachments, experience empathy, validation and to create a future with purpose and happiness.

Individual counselling can help you move through depression, anxiety, grief and many other stressful experiences.

Couples & Marital Counselling

Couples counselling is where you and your partner get a chance to explore conflict styles, communication skills, built up resentment and relationship goals in a meaningful way.

Marital work assists the couple to have a better understanding of underlying issues that are impacting their connection. The goal is to learn healthy strategies and to process negative events and/or behaviours.

The therapist works as a mediator to ensure safety and productivity. Marital Counselling often includes the research and workings of Gottman & Gottman.

Pre-Marital Counselling

Premarital counselling supports a couple in preparing for marriage. Premarital counselling supports a couple in navigating their preparatory process for a lifetime connection. Together, we will examine healthy communication skills, conflict resolution skills, personality styles and values/belief systems. The end goal is to enhance your readiness for marriage.

Fertility & Miscarriage Counselling

Starting, or expanding your family can be one of the most exciting and loving chapters in your life. Infertility, miscarriage and pregnancy complications can quickly turn that joy into grief, frustration and pain. Fertility counselling supports you as you walk your path and provides you with a comforting space where you can safely process your feelings. Together we will learn coping skills, hormonal health management and practices for self-care. Here, you will have a space to be heard, acknowledged and seen. You are welcome to come in for individual support, couples or both.

Family Counselling

Family counselling can enhance skills required for healthy communication, conflict resolution, family transitions (ie. separation, blended family changes) and to strengthen overall family relationships.

Family counselling provides a safe, structured and supportive environment to process and problem solve. The counsellor works as a mediator to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to feel heard and acknowledged.

Family counselling provides a foundation for trust and healing so the family can operate as a healthy and connected system.
