Scheduling
There are several ways to book an appointment with one of our counsellors. You can use the contact us page, by phone at 604-230-5475 or you can send a confidential email to jennifermichaudassociates@outlook.com
We are frequently with clients during the day, so please leave us a message and we will get back to you within 24hrs.
Crime Victim Assistance Programs (CVAP)
We work closely along side CVAP and support children, youth, individuals & families who have been victims to crimes and who are experiencing mental and emotional difficulties due to their experience. We bill directly to CVAP the pre-approved amount. CVAP only covers a portion of the counselling costs, therefore there will be a small balance that the client will be responsible to pay in office at the time of session.
Metis Nation British Columbia & First Nations Health Authority
We are happy to offer direct billing to MNBC & FNHA for Metis & First Nations clients who have been approved for funding. As an organization we recognize that reconciliation, awareness, advocacy & healing is a shared responsibility and we are privileged to hold space, witness and walk alongside those doing this sensitive & brave work.
Fees
The British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors has recently adjusted the fee schedule for Clinical Counsellors in BC to a range of $150 for Individuals & $180+ for Couples, per session.
Please note, there is a variation of rates between our counsellors and for individual counselling sessions versus couples/family counselling & extended session visits.
If our rates create a barrier to you accessing counselling please contact us to discuss your situation further. If you are a new client that cannot afford counselling and do not have extended health coverage, we are happy to offer you options for sliding scale and reduced rates.
Counselling Gift Cards
If you know someone who has wanted to access counselling, however, they do not have the funds or extended health benefits. We do offer gift cards available for purchase.
Benefits
Coverage for counselling varies based on your provider. It is important that you visit your extended health provider website to look over their criteria for counselling benefits. If you are unsure, please contact your benefits directly. At this time, we are unable to direct bill due to limitations that is set forth by the extended health providers.
If you do not have benefits for counselling, please maintain your receipts as you may be eligible to claim counselling services under medical for income tax purposes.
Group Rates
We offer groups various times throughout the year. Our group topics include anxiety management, depression, infertility support, separation, grief, learning about your teen and more! Please contact us directly to learn more about the group topics and fees.
